Tuition
Community School for People under Six works hard to enroll children and families in our community-based, multicultural education program no matter their income. We accept diverse funding sources to support family tuition, including:
- Subsidy vouchers from the Department of Social Services
- Scholarships through local Smart Start Partnerships
- Local Resources and Referral Agency funding such as United Way or University scholarships
- NC Pre-Kindergarten funds
- Local government funding for enrolled families in the Chapel Hill and Carrboro, NC, areas
- Further, families who pay the fees themselves and others support the school.

Our Admissions Process
We would love for you to enroll your child into Community School for People under Six. We require parents of any prospective student to fill out a waitlist form (anchor to Waitlist Form on Parent Resources) and wait for us to contact them with additional information and documents. When spaces are available, you will be notified by phone and confirm whether you’d like to enroll your child. If the answer is yes, we require:
- Completion of all paperwork
- Payment of ½ months deposit
- $200 Registration fee (one-time-payment)
- $75 Program fee (annually)
Orientation with our director and teachers occurs before or within one week of registration. We hope you join the wonderful community we have been cultivating for over 50 years!
