Testimonials

“We moved to Community School when our daughter was 1.5 to be closer to home and have been so happy here. Within a week, Maggie went from crying at drop-off to not wanting to leave at the end of the day! Her teacher is so caring and reports back to us each day on what she did, what she’s excelling at, and what they’re working on. The other teachers all know Maggie too and really work together like a family. We feel like Community School makes a huge effort to give Maggie stimulation in all kinds of ways. They play outside a lot, including with bikes. They learn about science even from a young age, and she’s given many opportunities to be creative. They read lots of books, and it’s so fun to hear Maggie say new words that she learned at school. She couldn’t be happier, and neither could we!” – Kelly

Amazing staff and a wonderful community. The Community School teachers are an amazing group of dedicated early childhood professionals. They have a creative curriculum with a good balance of play and age-appropriate academics. There is virtually no turnover, and the teachers are great at communicating with parents. The play spaces are awesome—a bike path for tricycles, an outdoor stage for dramatic play, and raised beds for a garden, which the children tend. Plus, they have catered farm-to-table lunches. The director is completely committed to the mission of early childhood education and making her child care center the very best it can be. We also love the families and have even made friends through the daycare. It really is a community and a magical place for our daughter. We feel lucky to have found it.

Loving, attentive staff with low turnover. An intentionally multicultural curriculum that is very community- and service-oriented. My son has been there almost three years, and we love the Community School and the role it plays within the Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools.
